Yup, I combined them....

There was no particular reason for trying out this combination. It just seemed like an interesting thing to do and we must admit that a formal skirt (and it has pockets.... #pocket junkie) and a crop top are a rare mix.

Pockets

These pants have very interesting pockets... And no, they are not harem pants... They just have big pockets which I think is really cool...

Silk and Jeans

Yes, I am standing on a bridge and below it is a small river but a river nonetheless... Kenya is a really beautiful country...
The handbag is one of my mum's oldest ones. It's probably vintage by now but it's cool and still in pretty good shape.

Formal in Pink

Pink, Black and white really seems to work... I love the dress because of the way it looks but I hate it because I have to dry clean it. It's one of those dresses that have a mixture of colours but the coloured part, in this case the black area, runs when the dress is put in water. Does anyone have a home remedy for such clothes?
The pumps are slowly becoming a personal favourite of mine. At first when I realised that I wanted to buy them and then wear them with every official look I could think of, I freaked out because I had always thought pumps are for women older than I am... But guess what?? They're actually really cool... and really comfortable...

A bit BOYISH...

The cap, the boots (which I absolutely love) and the jacket pretty much did everything.  I added the scarf to make the look more interesting.

Finally... Got my blog a Header!!

Thinking of the perfect header took a bit too long but I think it was well worth the wait. By perfect header I am referring to one that communicates something or everything about what inspires you and what your blog is all about. I like to call myself an artist and in retrospect I should have considered taking art classes before taking Financial Economics but no one says I still can't take them. My header may not be as fashion-y as anyone else would like it but it does SAY what I want. The colours were vintage inspired... you know, the ones you find on vintage photos or writings... And yes, I am a vintage fanatic left, right and centre. I LOVE to draw and one day I will put up some of my drawings for you to see... Though I am more of a graffiti kind of person and I would like to learn how to do it professionally.

The name of my blog ART&ATTIRE was supposed to portray the artistic impressions that fashion inspires. Fashion is a great way to express yourself and is an art best left to one's imagination. Anyway, back to the header... I like to play around with photoshop and this time round, my tinkering (if I may be allowed to use the word) paid off big time because it led to my header. The colours were a bit of a headache to put together and all the writing was kind of driving me nuts but all in all, am happy with what came out of it..... As you may have noticed, I am not much of a writer especially when it comes to commenting and talking about fashion pieces... I tend to believe that the eyes see and the mind appreciates, after all "beauty is in the eye of the beholder".... Today though, today I woke up feeling like I should talk about why I chose that name and why my header is as it is.

All those words "in the footprints of fashion" or "in the heart of fashion and art" are self made and I strongly believe that the way we dress speaks more about who we are and that is the reason for "Her style Her voice"...   Hmmmm.... I think I just ran out of stuff to say.... I'll just pen off then...

Have an awesome day people!!
The love (<3) is greatly appreciated!!!

Yours fashionably,
MaryAnn from Art&Attire

Spotlight: Claire

As promised, Tuesday post... This time its all about my friend, Claire... Her style is pretty awesome... And I know that you l-o-v-e her hair.

I know, it's just a vest and a pair of grey jeans paired with casual shoes and the biggest reggae earrings I have ever seen but guess what? She looks great... Not everyone can pull of a casual everyday look... What happened to just having it all toned down?

Notice the aztec printed shirt? Bet you did.... Paired with high waist black shorts and school girl heels.
She did the whole baggy top- small bottom look...

So what was I wearing? Just this.... Brown shorts, a yellow vest and a black blazer.... (The spot light wasn't on me this time but I had to take a photo)... and yes, those are cat eye sunglasses though you can't see them so well...
